Cures for diaper rash /nappy rash with holistic remedies to treat diaper rash within days.
Remedies for Diaper rash
Some home remedies can work very well in the prevention as well as treatment for diaper rash.

Plain Flour

This is really effective natural cure for diaper rash but a little tricky. Put some plain wheat flour in a sauce pan, without any water or oil. Burn a low flame under the pan and keep stirring off and on till it turns brown and smells out. Let it cool and store in a jar. Every time you change the diaper, put some of this brown flour on baby?s bottom. Also sprinkle some on the diaper. It will work wonderfully and cure may occur with a day.

Corn Starch and Vaseline Paste

Make a paste of equal quantities of corn starch and Vaseline and store in a cool place. Apply this paste on the bottom of your baby and massage gently (provided no bleeding wound is present). This works even for the severe diaper rashes. In most mild cases, skin is cured by the next diaper change.

Cod Liver Oil

Many people prefer cod liver oil to other natural oils for diaper rash treatment. Just prick a capsule and apply generously over the bottom of the baby. Massage a bit and put on a clean baby nappy. On the next change you can see the difference. Repeat two to three times a day.

Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera gel has a soothing effect and it is well known for its healing properties. Traditionally it has been used in the natural treatment of a number of skin diseases, diaper rash being one of them. Aloe Vera gives a soothing effect and promotes healing. Just applying the gel three to four times a day will treat diaper rash. Aloe gel is easily available in the market otherwise you can use fresh aloe lump as well (if you have one in your kitchen garden).

Egg White

Another relatively less popular but very effective natural remedy for diaper rash is to apply well beaten egg whites. Take two egg whites (one in case of smaller lesions) and beat them well. Apply this thoroughly over the effected area and put on the clean diaper. Repeat a few time and rash will disappear completely.

Cooking Lard

Applying old fashioned cooking lard is another effective treatment for diaper rash. Use lards two to three times a day and it will cure even bleeding diaper rashes within a day or two.

Mustard Oil and Water

Traditionally an Asian (especially in the sub-continent countries) remedy is to mix one part mustard oil with one part water, mix well and apply on the lesions. Repeat every time you change the diaper and theskin rash will be cured almost completely by the third or fourth change. Instead of mustard oil, almond oil or olive oil can also be used.

German chamomile or bur marigold Infusions

An old Russian home remedy for diaper rash is to bathe your baby in infusions of chamomile or marigold.

Milk of Magnesia

A quick treatment for diaper rash is to apply milk of magnesia on the effected areas. Repeat every time you change the diaper and it will work really fast, curing stubborn and bleeding diaper rash within a day or two. This is because it neutralizes the acidity of urine and gives a soothing effect to relief the burning and itch.

Bee's Wax

A very useful treatment is to coat the bottom of the baby with some warm bees wax. Again it will make a protective covering over the skin that would not allow urine to come in contact with the nappy rash and gives them time to heal. In this way it promotes healing and prevents any further damage to the skin.
